History, production, and growth

Danesi Caffè is a roman coffee company that was founded by Alfredo Danesi in 1905. His first café was Nencini e Danesi . He built his business by never compromising product quality. This helped to mold the Italian coffee culture. His son, Giovanni, took over the management in 1933 and not only expanded sales and increased the company’s revenue but also found a way to export Danesi coffee products to new markets internationally.

Giovanni’s sons, Roberto and Alfredo, in 1990 introduced the process of modernization to the company that was fully into the traditional method of harvesting and preparing coffee beans.

Today, the fourth generation of the Danesi Caffè family comprises of Roberto’s four daughters who are continuing with the development of the company according to the modern trends by keeping up with the most advanced machinery for production and packaging of their many coffee products.

Danesi Caffè is also active in promoting and encouraging the knowledge and tradition of one of the Italian cultural identity symbols, the Italian Espresso coffee.

Type of coffee used, origin

Danesi Coffee has found ways to incorporate traditional methods, people’s handwork, and modern innovations to produce the highest quality coffee with a unique flavor.

Danesi gets its coffee beans directly from small farmers to promote their capacity, development, and self-sufficiency and increase productivity by using technologies to grow better quality beans with a low environmental impact. This is to compensate for the volatility of the international prices and increased use of techniques and technologies for just higher yields and profit in the coffee sector.

Danesi caffè is more popular for its whole beans range of products in bags or tins. These whole beans can be ground by consumers exactly as finely as they desire. The beans are roasted in a hopper set at a specific temperature.

The roasting process affects how the brewed coffee will taste. It unlocks the oil and sugar within the beans. The length of time spent roasting determines the light to dark roast profiles, which also affect the taste and acidity. A cracking sound indicates the end of the roasting. It is then released into a cooler or bin to stop the roasting process with forced air.

Quality control or assurance is carried out by cup tasting or cupping to ensure the coffee is up to Danesi’s standard. This is smelling and tasting after grinding the roasted coffee beans. The last step is the packaging of the whole-bean coffee.
